What We Do
Taking Action

Our work is rooted in the consideration that mental life is housed within a body. The inseparability of our physical and emotional worlds means that our lived experience is a complex composite of mind, body and emotions.

From this viewpoint, mental health struggles are not just disorders of the mind -- they can be understood as emotions manifesting unhelpful movement patterns that further debilitate our emotional wellbeing.

In what follows, the general strategy of improving somatic lives offers an important route to mental health. This is the crux of what we do.

We achieve this by resourcing individuals with body-based techniques, and by expanding personal movement repertoires, to enable better coping with stress and emotions. We are also dedicated to bringing experiences, both within the individual and communally, that nourish, uplift and provide a sense of respite.

Our work involves a combination of learnable techniques, creative movement exercises, free/guided movement exploration, and "dance"; not purely as the art form but as individual expression.
